C3 Overview


                          C3-CRS
C3-CRS (C3 Course Reserves System) is a system that enables libraries to convert their paper holdings into digital form and access their own, locally controlled and managed digital document collections.

C3 is the digital equivalent of the traditional reserve book room but needs little or no staff intervention when patrons wish to copy (print) material.

                          Options
C3 is an integration of databases, bibliographic records and images. Included are functions for the library to control and manage intellectual property in the electronic world. These functions can be implemented to reflect the policies of the library.
                          Reduce Workload
  • Any number of students can access the same item simultaneously, items are never ‘checked’ out.
  • C3 can operate 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
  • Point of presence – documents can be accessed from anywhere on the network.
  • Documents can no longer get lost or damaged, eliminating repairs and replacement costs.
  • The staff service is replaced with a patron self-service, saving staff and patron time.
