Document Capture
Documents may be captured through local or remote image scanning facilities. C3 provides utilities to de-skew and de-speckle images when adding to bibliographic records. The C3 data entry allows for rapid and high quality input of documents without requiring extensive software knowledge.
C3 Navigation
Navigation in C3 is through a series of identical search screens. Through these screens, staff are able to view, edit and add course, publisher, instructor and document records to the database. Pages can be added, deleted and re-ordered in the C3 viewer. Document records can be denied access through the internet and intranet, and document records can also be password protected.
Data Entry
Separate records are created for Courses, Instructors, Documents and Publishers. This allows Staff to use pull-down lists to select information and eliminates multiple data entry of identical information. Control and charge records are attached when document records are created.
Editing Records
Staff can edit records by viewing the record information, altering the data and saving the modified record into the database. Pages can be added to, removed from, re-ordered and enhanced in a document. Document printing costs can be calculated automatically, and when page numbers change, total printing costs can be re-calculated.
Print Charges
Printing charges for documents can be set up per page and per document. C3 is also able to calculate the total cost of printing a full document based on the per page printing cost. Royalty fees (for copyright information) are calculated and fees payable to publishing companies accumulated.
